Is it Fall Yet?

I'm SO ready for football season! High school games on Fridays, college games on Saturdays, NFL on Sundays and occasionally they throw in a game on Mondays and Thursdays. Not sure I'll feel that way when football is still going after New Years, but whatever.

For the last two weeks I've had a tough time with sickness. A trip to Urgent Care two weekends ago determined it was an Upper Respiratory Infection. The dingbat doc gave me good drugs but put me on a weird plan. I followed it and it didn't work so I tweaked it and it started working. Now I have a cough left over, but I can deal with that WAY easier than the sinus pressure and headaches.

Mr.X met the family last weekend!! He went out with me, the parents, brother, sis-in-law, and nephew to dinner. Then my brother, sis-in-law, Mr. X, and I all went to a nearby restaurant to have a couple drinks and chat. It went really well. Of course my parents want more time with him, but everyone seemed to have a great time and Mr. X loved them. Glad that's behind us...maybe my mom won't bug me as much about getting to see him? Probably not though.

On a news note: What is with all the crazy people?! Man and woman kill his babies' mama, dismember her body, drive it to TX with the kids and dispose of her in a creek. Man kills a woman half his age and has plans of cooking her body and feeding it to animals but her body is discovered before he can do it. A man is killed by police (may have been the wrong thing to do, maybe not) and a nation is on edge from riots that have burned businesses and residence of completely innocent people. I just don't get it.

Working out, getting in shape update: I did a 24 day challenge on a the Advocare system (https://www.advocare.com/11061060/ is my friends' page). After 24 days of eating "clean" foods, taking their supplements, and keeping up my normal workout schedule I lost 10 pounds and 16 inches!! I'm in the "bust my ass" phase of preparation for my 10 year high school reunion and that was a GREAT boost. Typically I work out 4 days each week, mostly mornings before work. Its early, but then its done for the rest of the day and by the time I start my day at work I feel like I've already accomplished so much. No, I never wake up thinking "Oh I can't wait to roll off this bed and head to the gym!". But the success is that I do it anyway regardless of how I feel. Then when its done I feel awesome (except right now because I stepped up the workout today and my legs are killing me). I'll write more about working out next time!

Have a great end to your week everyone!!
